Materials collected and created by M. Irene "Sandy" Sanderson, later M. Irene Sanderson Beahm, Bridgewater College (Bridgewater, Va.), Class of 1944. Many of materials give a primary source view of life at Bridgewater College during the early 1940s. Sanderson was involved in a number of activities at Bridgewater College including The Student Christian Movement, Glee Club, Mu Epsilon Mu (the home economics society), and Societas Orphea (a musical honor society.) She also served as vice-president of her senior class. She sang in the choir in the Class of 1944 senior play.

Places shown are Yount Hall, Cole Hall, Flory Hall, Rebecca Hall, Rawley Springs, and Bridgewater Church of the Bretheren. Themes of the photgraphs inlcude dormotory life, chapel life, theatrical and musical performances, friendship, May Day, later newspaper clippings regarding Hazel Earle Wright's marriage, intramural sports, a flood, a beach trip, studying, classes, the junior camping trip to Rawley Springs, Scarlet Fever quarantine, trip to Hardenia Click's home and farm in Weyer's Cave, VA, and a Sadie Hawkins Day.
