Large brown wooden plaque in the shape of shield. Golden wooden eagle at top center with a red, white and blue shield. In gold letters at top, "IN THE SERVICE OF OUR COUNTRY DURING WORLD WAR II." Below are listed approximately 360 names of Bridgewater College students and alumni who served in World War II, as known circa 1944. Names in no order. Some women, but mostly men, listed. Names are listed on gold rectangular thick paper plates in black letters. Blue sticker stars are affixed to name plates to indicate those killed in action and killed in service. Some name plates missing and many worn.
According to the Bridgewater College history by John W. Wayland, this plaque was financed and donated by the College alumni association.
