From label: The artist, born 1871, in Rockingham County, VA was the daughter of Frederick and Anna Driver Wampler and a sister to Fred and Ernest Wampler, Bridgewater College graduates and Brethren missionaries. She married Samuel Bowman in 1891. Best known for her painting of the town of Bridgewater in 1905, she taught at Bridgewater College, 1894-1896, 1911-1913. This undated oil painting came from the Samuel McCann Estate.
