Description Inked printing block for what was likely the earliest printed literature to advertise The Spring Creek Normal School, which later became Bridgewater College (Bridgewater, Va.) This engraving plate printed the cover of the pamphlet. It reads:

Metal plate is mounted on a wooden block which is stamped "BRETHREN PUB."
