Description Brown Easter egg with elaborate white illustrations including a shield, "1905," Jesus Christ, a bird, Greek letters, and floral designs at ends. Earlier provenance notes these eggs were prepared for the Arch-Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem to be given to his friends at Easter. Earlier notes say the egg was carved and treated with acid but it is also possible it was made in the pysanky lost wax or another wax resistance technique.
