Gray stoneware jar. Salt glazed? Simple open cobalt flower design front and back. Ribbed handles with cobalt smudges over edges. Cut double band at neck. Area of brown glaze at one side.
This jar was in the kitchen of the Bridgewater College (Bridgewater, Va.) "White House" (or old dining room) in May, 1923 when the class of 1924 prepared and served the alumni banquet.
