Small inkstand. Likely 1700s or 1800s. Lid (a) appears to be ceramic while other parts appear to be porcelain. Lid (a) is heavily painted white. Leaf design at top with two blue berry knobs at center. Worn. Base is painted mauve, possibly repainted from blue. White floral and leaf designs on sides are glazed but not painted. Blue flower in center of front. Two holes in center. Blue top edge. Unpainted glazed underside. One hole holds the small white ceramic inkwell (c). Not covered. The other hole holds sand shaker, (d). Cover is molded to sand shaker. Sand was used to blot ink.
