Description Fossilized fish in a rock slab. Older inventory note reads: Wyoming fish fossil, 55 to 65 million years old. Found in Kemmerer, Wyoming area, by John C. Eller and family. Its geologic time period is the Eocene Epoch. This fossil fish (Diplomystus) was unearthed at the Warfield Springs Fossil Quarry near Fossil Butte National Monument. The fish lived in an ancient Syrcline Lake.
