Translated by Dr. Yuka H. Kishida, the writing describes successive masters of the major houses which continue to dedicate themselves to the practice of the "Way of Tea"
Following the list of masters on the reverse of the fan, there is a list of Japanese era names with their beginning years in the Western calendar.
