S. J. Monroe note on George W. Bailey preaching, 19 Aug 1883. Note written in purple pencil on the back of a scrap of paper advertising an unidentified apothecary. The note reads: Brother George W. Bailey furnished Sermont. By Rev Paine officiating 11 Twenty 4 Chap 6=7=8 verses Sunday 1.0 clock at this own house. Aug 19= 1883 Wrote by S. J. Monroe. The back of the scrap shows an advertisement, possibly letterhead, with medicines and compounds. The note may be associated with a Church of the Brethren in Luray (Virginia), possibly the congregation that would become Beahms Chapel. |
