Album of appreciation for Dr. John S. Flory on the occasion of his retirement from the Eldership of the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren (Bridgewater, Va.), October 2, 1940. Hand lettered on deckle edged leaves. The album contains handwritten and typed notes that address Flory upon his retirement. It begins with an introduction from the committee of Minor C. Miller, D. S. Thomas and J. D. Miller. It is organized as follows: Part I., Greetings from Church Organizations; Part II., Greetings from Friends at Home; and Part III., Greetings from Friends from Afar. Four leaves laid in at back. Bound in black leather with "APPRECIATION" and "Dr. John S. Flory" on cover in gilt. |
