Description |
Brown leather portfolio housing the medals and insignia of John E. Stenger, 1922 - 2014, who served with the 104th Infantry "Timberwolf" Division on the German front in WWII. The front of the portfolio has gilt lettering reading,"WAR SERVICE RECORD". There are brown kid leather panels inside for pinning medals. Inside are the following: Bronze Star and folded citation (1945) Purple Heart (2) One may have belonged to his twin brother, Charles Stenger Good Conduct Medal 2 Army Presidential Unit Citations Two Combat Infantry US Army Rifle Pins Photostat of discharge paperwork Purple Heart Metal ribbon bar Bronze Star ribbon bar Army Good Conduct ribbon bar Army of Occupation of Germany ribbon bar European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal ribbon bar with three service stars WWI Victory Medal ribbon bar? with a service star Patch with the howling wolf insignia of the 104th Infantry "Timberwolf" Division Also tucked in is a note from Firestone stating that they are sending a silver identification bracelet.
