Description |
Framed painted portrait of David Newton Eller, 1862 - 1914. He was the head of Botetourt Normal College (Daleville, Va.) from 1893 - 1896 and again from 1902 - 1910. He was the president of Daleville College (Daleville, Va.) from 1910 -1911. The portrait is a waist up view. Eller stands in profile. He wears a black overcoat and a white collar. He holds a small red book. His black beard is streaked with white. The painting has a golden background and is in a golden wooden ornamented frame. The portrait was painted by Nellie G. Duncan and was given to Bridgewater College (Bridgewater, Va.) by Eller's family and friends on Founder's Day, April 3, 1930. |
